Popularly abbreviated as MEK, ‘Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu’ which translates to ‘Who among you is a millionaire?’ in English is mega- hit TV reality show down South. Created by Abhinav Surabhi and produced by Big Synergy Entertainment, it is an Indian television game show. Owned by Sony Pictures television company, it is the authorized adaptation of the world- wide acclaimed ‘Who wants to be a Millionaire?’ in the UK, and ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ in Hindi (India).
After the successful wrap-up of Season- 1 and Season- 2, Season-3 came on its way broadcasting from 27th November 2015 to 3rd April 2016 airing a total of forty- five episodes. Actor Nagarjuna continued as the host of the show due to his unprecedented emotional connect, towering presence and empathy for his fans and audience. The actor also quoted saying that it gave him an immense opportunity to touch people's hearts because as actors they just entertain but it was through this show that he could bring smiles to the faces of so many contestants. He concluded saying that he'll always cherish this more than the success of his stardom and is pretty contended to be the reason for somebody's happiness, a feeling he couldn't quite express in words which happened via this show’s platform.
The third season launched with a special episode featuring the host Akkineni Nagarjuna Akkineni Nagarjuna is a veteran Indian actor, TV p >> Read More... himself with his younger son Akhil. The father-son duo attracted a huge number of viewers with their chemistry. Nagarjuna discussed and revealed many interesting facts about his son while Akkineni Akhil shared his enthusiasm and experiences of his intensive shooting schedules and stunts for his debut film. Due to the sudden drop in TRPs in the third installment as well as facing stiff competition from Zee Telugu and ETV Telugu, Maa TV decided to shift this show from the slot of 21:30 hours to 21:00 hours to attract more spectators from both the urban and rural market. The game show has two crucial phases, the initial stage being the level of Rs.20000 and crossing it the contestants or the participants will no longer have time-bounded questions.
There will be a total of three life- lines and questionnaire can also include an audio or a video clip. The second step comes at Rs.3,20,000 where the participants irrespective of whether they answer the next question or not can take back this minimum amount of money home. Meanwhile, if the hot- seat contestants are unsure of the answer, then they can choose to use from the three lifelines of Double Dip, Audience Poll and Phone a Friend provided to them. After winning the cheque of Rs.3,20,000, the ultimate target is one crore. No one has won one crore in the first three seasons of the show. However, the mother- son duo Uma- Aditya and husband- wife duo Amarnath- Rohita both the pair of contestants from Visakhapatnam, have won ₹50 lakhs each. Both the couple successfully attempted the ₹1 crore question after quitting.
