Vidhi is a Telugu drama serial that was broadcasted on the channel of ETV Telugu. It was originally broadcasted in Tamil under the same name and later dubbed in Telugu. Written by Thavan Suppaiya and Marudhu Shankar, and directed by Guru Balan and Stalin Iniya, the story revolves around the concept of a family and the norms and accusations they face when a child gets involves in the whole matter. Nila is portrayed as a young woman who is married to a man named Raghu and is a housewife. They both care a lot for each other and want to build a family. But due to certain reasons they find themselves unable to conceive a child. After discussing it within themselves they both decide to adopt a child. Finally they adopt a child from an unmarried woman named Diya.

When Diya gets married to Siddharth and tells him of the whole situation, he doesn’t take offence to the adoption and supports it. However, things get a bit more complicated when Siddharth decides to leave Diya and marry Chitra who happens to be Raghu’s sister. The situation gets awkward when the family finds the adopted child and its biological father in the same room but with different relations for a namesake. It just doesn’t feel right for any of the other family members. On the other hand Diya is not happy regarding the marriage because Sidhharth had married a woman who was close to the people who had adopted her baby. The awkwardness leads to the formation of discontentment and anger. The household entirely breaks in a series of verbal abuses and a toxic environment.

The adoptive parents try to maintain the peace in whatever way they can because an abusive environment is harmful for the baby. They suggest Chitra to separate from Sidhharth but Sidhharth has fallen for Chitra and can’t allow it to happen. They then decide to take away the child but the adoption papers are already signed and the matter is not in their hands anymore. As the situation gets worse, the family is worried to lose the child to the hate building in their house but in order to prevent that from happening the family must try to make amends amongst themselves and somehow manage to love the child no matter what and in a way that doesn’t discriminate between any of the family members. How they manage to do that and make strong bonds with each other is what the rest of the episodes constitute.
