Tom is the hero of this series who is an eight years old boy. In every episode, Tom goes towards the crooked tree on the lawn of his house, which is protected by a magical shield. The power belt with him makes him an insect. Now he can fly inside the tree and enter the magical world called ‘Treetopolis.’ In every episode, Tom breaks the fourth wall and asks the little viewers to come forward to make some supernatural moves and say magical words, as he instructs, to help him out. Most of these movements are helpful for children with a problem Dyspraxia. These movements are beneficial for those children.
Tree Fu Tom aimed to promote movements among children, particularly from the age of 2-6- years old. The production company developed the series in conjunction with the Dyspraxia Foundation. The foundation specialists Sally Payne and Dr. Lynda Foulder-Hughes along with the series creator developed the magical moves performed by Tom. Most of these moves are recommended for child development by the therapists.
Some of the characters in this series are Twigs, Zigzoo, Squirmtum, Ariela, Rickety McGlum, and so many. Twigs is an Acorn with a human-like body who can speak and walk. Zigzoo, a frog who always invents new things to help solve problems. Ariela is a female butterfly who was said to be loved by Zigzoo. Almost all of the characters in this series are anthropomorphized (i.e.) human emotions and feelings are attributed to the nonhuman creatures.Â
