Music Maanaadu is a Tamil television entertainment series focusing on the love for old and new music. The show revolves around the induction of two teams, one from the 90's and the other from the 2000's. At the show's start, the anchors introduced both teams separately, albeit with a friendly competition. The series starts with both teams arguing over why their period is better than the other. The competition is via ample songs according to the present theme. They also call respective team members to sing the opening "hero" theme songs to vibe to.
The series continues by opening up with fun games, such as when a song is playing. Both teams must figure out which song it is, press the buzzer in the middle of the stage, and sing the current melody to earn points. The 2000's team performed reasonably well, although they did get certain pieces wrong. Special guests appeared on the show, wherein, at one point, the competitors had to sing along to the guest's music correctly without missing a beat. At the end, the show draws to a close by the orchestra playing (piano, mostly) "Ayyayayoo Anandhame" from the movie Kumki.Â
