Chopped Junior is an American reality cooking competition television series. It was dubbed in Tamil and broadcast on Discovery Tamil. It was inspired by the parent show named Chopped. The show was originally in English and aired on Food Network. This is a fun and family-friendly show which teaches the viewers different dishes to try at home. The four young chefs compete against each other to win the title of the show. The participants were in the age group of 8 to 13 years of age. They created various tasty dishes using some mystery ingredients provided to them. These ingredients that are provided in a basket are often weird, and don't go well together. It became a difficult task to mould and use the ingredients to make a tasty and original dish. Sometimes, they get strange Bagels, weird fungus, unusual chips, and whatnot. In one episode, they created a Thanksgiving meal for the judges. The theme for every episode is very unique, and original. On Mother's Day, the participants made a dish by keeping their mothers in mind. An episode was dedicated to please the dads. They had to create appetizers, a main dish, and a dessert within the given time.
After three elimination rounds, a winner was chosen. Judges choose the best dish and a cash prize of 10000 dollars is given to the winner. They try to provide a positive feedback to the kids without discouraging them for their hard work. This show features how creative, and confident the kids could become in the kitchen. The Chopped Junior Chef’s Coat is also given to the winner. Ted Allen was the host of this show. He is a Sous Chef who helps the children whenever they are stuck with something. The judges of the show included Marc Murphy, Amanda Freitag, Alex Guarnaschelli, Scott Conant, Geoffrey Zakarian, Lazarus Lynch, and many more. Michael Pearlman was the Director of this show. Linda Lea, Heidi Cayn Friedman, Vivian Sorenson, Amy Stanford, Sarah Steinberg, Chapman Riedel, Nizar Assad, and Zoe Jackson were the Producers of this show. All the episodes are available on Jio TV for online streaming. A total of 9 seasons have been released till now. The first episode of the first season was released in October 2015. The 9th and latest season was released in December 2019. The original episodes of all the seasons in English were released on Food Network's official YouTube channel for online streaming.
