Ananda Thandavam is a Tamil drama serial based on mythology on the Saivite Saints of South India. These stories are taken out from the immensely popular Thiruvilayadal Puranam, among the devout Hindus. There are a total of eight episodes, and Lord Shiva appears in different incarnations in each of the eight episodes. In this one episode, Lord Shiva plays one of his Thiruvilaiyadal to Manikavasagar and the Pandya King to preach with knowledge of reality and blessed with redemption. Manikavasagar, being the prime minister, spends the money given to him to buy horses by the Pandya king, to build the temple. As he is in loss of money and is accountable to the king, Shiva comes to his rescue by changing foxes into horses and shows him the right path to follow.
