Pradhana Vizha is an award show to felicitate art and artists who come from the Tamil television industry in Singapore. Pradhana Vizha continues that tradition and the award function is held every year in Singapore and is produced by Mediacorp. The award function was launched in 1996 and has since become a major award show to honor both, Malay as well as Tamil artists. In 2012 a lot of great artists were awarded for their exceptional work. The award for best actress went to Manimala for Mudivu. Mohan took home the prestigious award for the best actor for his role in Avargal. The award for the best drama went to Manam Sr.2. This is considered the most important award of the night as it is not given to a single artist rather it looks for the collective creativity put in to make the drama.
The award for best variety program went to the beautiful drama, Dhil Dare Devils. And at last, the award for the best educational program went to Vasantham Payanam. The 2012 Pradhana Vizha award was a major hit and like every Pradhana Vizha award, it aired on Vasantham. The award got very high ratings because of all the stars who came to attend the show.
