Shala is a part of a Marathi serial named Soanpaul that premiered in 2008 on DD Sahyadri. Shala is a particular part of the serial and focuses on the life of a school-goer named Dinu. It is a light-hearted serial that takes the viewers through the day of Dinu and his friends, who bunk school. Dinu is a notorious and loving child of his mother who lives with their aunt Shanta. The story takes the viewers to a morning of Dinu’s mother taking care of her chores and making Dinu ready for school. To avoid going to school, Dinu hides his school essentials at home; however, his mom finds everything on time and sends him to school. Dinu meets his friends, Hamza and Abbas and realizes about a math homework check scheduled for the day.

Dinu and his friends skip school for the day and venture out into the forest and river valley. The boys enjoy their company in nature and return home in the evening.
