Pratima Kulkarni, a postgraduate in English Literature and Aesthetics, began her career in the performing arts at a young age. In Mumbai, experimental theatre in Marathi, Hindi, and other regional languages, was booming around 1974. In such a bright environment, she decided to pursue acting as a career and developed a deep interest in other parts of theatre as well. Pratima worked as Stage Manager and Assistant Director under renowned Director Vijaya Mehta due to this connection. Pratima continued to work in television, film, and theatre after she started working behind the camera. She won multiple honors for her work in theatre and television after making her directorial debut with the play “Atma Katha” in 1988.

Rekha Kamat was an Indian actress. She was born in 1932. Rekha Ji and her sister learnt the art of dancing in their schools. This art helped both of them to get an opportunity to work in cinema. It is a well-known fact that she predominantly worked in the Marathi film industry. Rekha Ji unfolded her wings and started her career with Lakhachi Gosht, a comedy/classic film released in 1952. Rekha Ji was just 20 years old when she made her debut in the film industry. After her debut performance, she got another offer for the film Kanchanganga, a drama/musical film released in 1954.

Unlike other regions, (except perhaps Bengal), theatre has always had a strong presence in the Marathi cultural ethos, and over the years has produced several fine actors and actresses who have not only graced the Marathi film and TV scene, but have made their presence felt through brilliant performances in the national arena through the medium of Hindi films and TV serials. Continuing in the same tradition, comes the name of Amita Khopkar, already a veteran of several Marathi, films, serials as well as stage performances, now making her presence felt in Hindi movies and soap also. Like many other artists, she also changed her actual title “Kopkar” to a more assertive sounding “Khopkar” for her screen name.

Suhas Joshi was born on 12th July 1947 in the West Thane, Maharashtra. She is a popular actress of the Marathi film industry, and she is also called upon by the name of Suhasini Joshi. She got married to Sibhash Joshi, and she also acted in Bollywood movies. She acted in Television serials as well, and she gained a lot of fan followers. She got immense interest in becoming an actress, which took place when she did her college.

Rasika Joshi was an established actress and served in many Hindi and Marathi entertainment assignments. She was born to a Brahmin Marathi family and married to Mr. Girish Joshi who is also a notable name in Marathi film industry. She died on 7 July 2011 due the suffering from leukemia.

She initiated as theatre actress and started her carrier with Lata Narvekar’s Marathi play and ended with Ram Gopal Verma’s Hindi movie Not a Love Story. She was the part of many commercial successes like Gayab, Vastu Shashtra, Billu etc. She got engaged with Ram Gopal Verma in a work assignment of Ek Hasina Thi and got noticed by him. Thereafter she became his favorite and worked in many of his Hindi films.

For TV, she became the well known for Marathi assignments Prapanch, Ghadlay Bighadlay and Bua Alaa. She had also appeared in Ekta Kapoor’s Bandini where she portrayed the negative role of Tara Fui. The Serial narrated the story of a poor village girl who faced a lot of problems. Everything in her life had been fixed by the America returned queen Mohsina. The show aired on NDTV Imagine and produced under the banner of Balaji Telefilms.

In theatre, she wrote, directed, and acted in plays like White Lily & Night Rider which bagged many awards for her along with co-actor Milind Pathak.

Bal Karve is an established Indian stage/ film actor. He was born and raised in Pune. He is known for his performance in Marathi theatre, television, and Marathi movies. He started acting in 1977 with the film “Banya Bapu.” It was directed by Govind Kulkarni. Bal Karve is seen playing the role of “Bapu” in the Marathi movie. In 1978 he got to be a part of the play “Suryachi Pille” directed by Damu Kenkre. The play featured Madhav Vatve, Dilip Prabhavalkar, Mohan Gokhale, Sadashiv Amrapurkar, and Shanta Jog. The same year he appeared in two Marathi movies, “Chandra Hota Sakshila” and “Chandoba Chandoba Bhaglas Ka.” He has also done a Marathi TV serial named “Chimanrao Gundyabhau.”

Sudhir Joshi was a famous Indian actor and comedian, predominantly working in the Marathi film industry. He was born on 25 July 1948 in Dadar and died on 14 December 2005.

He has pure talent and is a kind-hearted person who is inspiring many generations. He is married to Sukanya Kulkarni. They have a daughter named Julia. His upcoming film is "prem Yogayog"(2022).

Bharat Jadhav is a well-known comedian and a film and theatre producer of Marathi drama and cinema. He is a Maharashtrian by his ethnicity. He tied the knot with Sarita Jadhav and declared her to be his wife. He has been a part of 8 serials, 85 movies and about 8500 drama shows in his life which are considered to be a great achievement of his experience. His experience shows that he had worked with many great personalities. He also has close relations with director and producer Kedar Shinde as a friend. Bharat started off with his acting career in the year 1985 with a dance troupe named Maharashtrachi Lokdhara. He joined this troupe under the guidance of famous Marathi folk artist, Shahir Sable. He has played lead roles in films like Masta Chalalay Amacha, Aamchya Sarkhe Aamhich, Pachadalela, Jatra, Sat Na Gat, Sahi Re Sahi, All the Best and Shreemant Damodar Panta.

Known for his character as Akash in a renowned TV serial named, Dehleez (February 16, 2009 - May 22, 2009), which was publicized on NDTV Imagine, Sunil Barve was born on 6th October 1966. The serial is based upon a wedded young lady, who needs to venture out of the limits of her home to work for the sake of her husband.
