On the show, the host, Vinod Dua, would embark on a road journey across various cities, spanning several states ranging from Kashmir to Tamil Nadu, The Northeast, Gujarat, etc and even visit plenty of heritage sites in even international locations such as Hong Kong, Manchester, Birmingham, Mauritius etc. In search of authentic Indian flavors and food items. On reaching these locations he would taste the various local foods from the street and those available in the popular restaurants. He would stop at multiple areas, such as the dhabas, and give the audience a close insight into these places and would end up enticing the audience whenever he tried any new dish.
How he spoke, as if directly talking to the viewers, and the way in which he gave the descriptions of the ambiance and the food he was eating, would give the audience the impression that they were right there with him trying out the food, thus making the show incredibly exciting and relatable for them. Another reason why the show became trustworthy and popular was because, apart from praising the food, Dua would also critique it whenever he felt necessary. It was a food show for the average Indian as it introduced them to tasty, unique, yet affordable dishes, all of which, in a way, created India’s food culture.Â
