. Sa Re Ga Ma 2001 was the sixth year of the Sa Re Ga Ma series. It aired on the channel Zee TV every Saturday and Sunday at 8 pm for an hour till 9 pm. Till the year 1999, each year had more than one season. After that, all had one season per year. Sa Re Ga Ma has given children from all over India an amazing opportunity to display their talent and provided a national wide platform for them to make a name for themselves. People who have participated in this show have now become great singers who have gotten an opportunity in Bollywood.

. The winner of the season was Anita Pundit. The format of the Sa Re Ga Ma franchise is as follows; the contestants are scored only by expert judges. There were eight prelim rounds, each of which consisted of two male singers and two female singers. From each round, one male and one female singer are sent to the semi-finals, meaning there were a total of four semifinals. One male contestant and one female contestant from them were sent to the finals.
