Sa Re Ga Ma Pa is an Indian singing reality television show in Hindi. Singing reality shows are a subgenre of reality shows in which participants compete against each other through their singing talent and nothing else. The rest of the format is similar to any reality show. Sa Re Ga Ma Pa follows the same trope. The show was launched in the year 1995 and was promoted as one of the major singing reality show that has never been attempted by any Indian network. The show had a panel of professional playback singers who used to score and train the participants and also helped them in their performance. The participant with the highest score ultimately took home the prize and the title of the show. The show worked on elimination rounds too where participants who scored the lowest were eliminated.

The show was hosted by Shaan, who went on to become a massively popular playback singer. The winner of the 2002 edition was Hricha Mukherjee. The show used to air on the popular Hindi channel, Zee TV. Sa Re Ga Ma Pa was not only the highest-rated show on the channel but became one of the most-watched Hindi shows ever.
