During, that time he was in the eighth standard and found an abandoned puppy on the street. Zabi brought up that puppy to his place and named it Cassonava. After a few days, the puppy died due to some liabilities. Zabi, after this incident, felt so heartbroken that he decided to work for the animal cause. And since then, he has contributed a lot towards animal welfare. Zabi opened a shelter house for animals when he was sixteen years old. He hosted the radio show In the Mix with Nikhil Chinapa on popular radio channel, 94.3 Radio One. However, the show came to an abrupt end due to certain issues. At present, he is concentrating more on the development of the Electronic Dance Music scene in India. His company Submerge organizes music festivals and gigs on a regular basis which mainly revolve around EDM. The most recent music festival that was put together by Nikhil was the Supersonic Festival in Goa this past December. His career has had its fair share of controversies, but he has survived and is still going strong.
