What is the value of Zindagi, that is, life? Nobody else can better answer this question than a person who knows he is dying. This deep theme made the plot of this very popular show of Star Plus which was launched in the year 2000 and was telecast every Thursday at 9.00 p.m. The central character of the serial was Rachna, a blood cancer patient who was trying to live every bit of her life with full zeal. The story kicks off like this. The Sharma family was living happily in their small abode in Mumbai when one day Rachna fainted in her college. She was brought to hospital and the doctors found out that she was in stage two of blood cancer. This shatters the dreams and hopes of the Sharmas that they had woven for their daughter. Rachna herself was shattered initially but seeing her parents collapse, she decided that she would recollect her and would made every effort to make them happy s they were only people in the world who had always supported her and she was their only hope of living. Instead of whining over her situation, she got up and decided to live her life like normal person and remained true to her words in spite of many hurdles. Like every other Indian serial, this too ended on a happy note as doctors discovered that she could be cured and can live thereafter normally. The serial was aimed at inspiring the youth audiences.
