The story begins with Mishri, an orphan who lives in an orphanage with her foster father. Arjun Awasthy, Pratap Awasthy's son, is a criminal lawyer who despises love and marriage. Mishri and Arjun meet and have a misunderstanding, which causes them to dislike each other. Priya, Mishri's friend, tries to sell the orphanage to a lady named Sakshi, and Mishri intervenes and insults them. Priya became enraged and wanted retaliation for their insult, so she accused Mishri's foster father, Swamiji, of murder and had him arrested. Mishri approaches Arjun for assistance in fighting her father's case, and he is granted bail. But Arjun imposes a condition on her to fight her case: she must sign a one-year marriage contract with him, to which she agrees.Â
