Born on April 18th, 1962, Poonam Dhillon is one of the three children born to an aeronautical engineer father and a mother who was principal of a school. She has one brother and a younger sister, both of whom are in the medical profession. She has two children, Anmol and Paloma, from her marriage with Ashok Thakeria, which lasted till 1977. 

Poonam, standing tall at 5’6”, had her first tryst with fame on winning the Miss Young India title at the age of 16. Thereafter, she was cast by Yash Chopra in her debut film Trishul in 1978. That was the beginning of a fulfilling career in films wherein she acted in about 90 movies in Hindi and several in regional languages. She was nominated for Filmfare Award for Best Actress for Noorie (1979).

Hindi theater also attracted Poonam a lot and her play “The Perfect Husband” won the Best Comedy Play Award in 2005.

Poonam Dhillon ventured into the arena of the small screen, with the serial Andaaz.

Thereafter, she was part of a wellness TV series by the name of Chusth Durusth aired by Zee TV. She has appeared in the Showbiz India Celebrity Profile (2005) and as a contestant in Bigg Boss (season 3). Currently, her serial Ekk Nayi Pehchaan on Sony TV is a big hit. Her presence on Comedy Nights With Kapil as a guest along with Dharmendra was also notable.

Poonam is a versatile personality. She ventured into the Make-up Van Business, and was a pioneer of the concept for the Indian Film Industry. Her company is called Vanity. She is also pursuing her academic interests, alongside, and is doing MBA in International Business. Poonam has recently launched an event & film production company by the name of Poetic Justice Films Ltd. She is Consulting Editor with Zeenext.com. To guide young aspiring actors, she launched a web portal in 1997 titled “Star Ya Kalakar”. Poonam had a  stint in politics too wherein she joined Congress party in 2004.She is actively involved with social causes such as Drug Awareness, Aids Awareness, Family Planning and Organ Donation. She is recipient of Priyadarshini Award for recognition of contributions in the social work sector.

Sai Paranjpye is a screenplay writer and director. She was born on March 19, 1938, in Mumbai. Shakuntala Paranjpye, a yesteryear actress, writer, a Rajya Sabha member, Padma Bhajan recipient, and a social reformer, and Youra Sleptzoff is her parents. Youra is the son of a Russian army general and an artist. However, soon after her birth, her parent's marriage hit rock bottom, and they divorced. Sai's mother raised her with the help of Sai's grandfather R. P. Paranjpye, who was a brilliant mathematician and worked in Australia as a High Commissioner to India. As a result, Sai's childhood passed in cities like Pune and Canberra. Achyut Ranade, her uncle, also influenced her a lot. Due to his teachings, she took to writing at an early age.

Parikshit Sahni was born in 1944 in Murree (now part of Pakistan). He has acted in many TV serials and Films. He is the son of Balraj Sahni and nephew of Bhisham Sahni who are well known.

Suresh Oberoi is a character actor and the father of actor Vivek Oberoi. He was born as Vishal Kumar Oberoi, on December 17, 1946, in Quetta, Baluchistan, present-day Pakistan. His father was a Punjabi businessman named Anand Sarup Oberoi. He four brothers and sisters. His entire family relocated to Hyderabad state in India, during the time of Partition. Here, his family established a chain of medical stores.

Amol Palekar was born on 24th November, 1944 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. He is a very popular Bollywood and Marathi actor, producer and director. He had been active from the year 1971 in the cinema world. He had made a huge mark as an artist in the Hindi and Marathi industry. He had got the Filmfare's Best Actor Award for the movie Gol Maal (1980). He got married with Chitra. As far as his studies are concerned, he studied Fine Arts at the Sir JJ School of Arts, Mumbai. He began his profession as a painter. With painter as a profession, he made many wonders as he conducted seven events revolving around his works and he also took part in several multiple people shows.

Govardhan Asrani, simply known with the pet name Asrani, is a popular Bollywood veteran actor. He was born on 1st January, 1941 in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Asrani's father had a small carpet shop. He had four sisters and three brothers. Since childhood, Asrani never had interest in business and also he was very bad in mathematics. He completed his schooling from St. Xavier School and received graduation from Rajasthan College, Jaipur. To pay for his education, he worked as a voice artist in the all India Radio.  He had a passion about acting. Asrani learnt acting in Sahitya Kalbhai Thakkar for two simultaneous years from 1960 to 1962 and after his training; he shifted to Mumbai to seek opportunity in acting career. In accidental meetings with some Bollywood actors, they advised Asrani to professionally learn acting, for which he joined the Film Institute located in Poona, and completed the course in 1966. In 1967, Asrani did his first film debut as a side actor in “Hare Kaanch Ki Choodiyan". It was just a start to his career in acting and he is one of the successful actors in India and he is still acting till date. The myth that actors never retire, is truly applied on Asrani. He has done several of characters and roles in numerous movies. He is married to Manju Asrani, who is also an actress, with whom he fell in love while working together in the Bollywood film "Aaj Ki Taaza Khabar", a comedy film of 1973.

Late Ravi Chopra was a veteran director who directed a number of successful Bollywood movies and some epic television serials for Indian television Industry. He was the son of late B.R. Chopra and he assisted his father in directing and producing a few Bollywood gems Dastaan (1972) and Dhund (1973). In 1969, he also worked as assistant director and producer for his uncle Yash Chopra for the movie Ittefaq. He debuted as an independent director for the movie Zameer in 1975 and after that, he directed some more highly successful movies such as The Burning Train, Mazdoor, Aaj Ki Awaj, Dahleez, Baghban, and Baabul.

Ravi Chopra showed a great interest in Indian epics and directed the epical television series Mahabharat for Doordarshan National television channel which was aired from 1988 to 1990 on Indian national television channel. After that, he also directed a mini-series Ramayana in 2002. He continued to direct and work for some other mythological television shows such as Maa Shakti and Vishnu Puran. Recently, he was about to start directing another mythological television series Vasudev Krishna which was scheduled to be started in 2014-2015; however, his sudden demise because of lung cancer ended this project even before it could start. Ravi Chopra died on November 12th 2014, at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai.

Born on April 2, 1898, in Hyderabad, Telangana, Harindranath Chattopadhyay was an Indian dramatist, a poet, a musician, an actor and an individual from Vijayawada constituency of the 1st Lok Sabha. Raised in a Bengali Hindu Kulin Brahmin family, he was the son of Barada Sundari Devi, a writer and vocalist and Aghornath Chattopadhyaya, first Indian D.Sc, a researcher scholar and educationist. His ballads Noon and Shaper Shaped got him acknowledgment.

Born in the city of Mumbai to a family of Parsi religion, Rohinton Soli Screwvala is an Indian philanthropist, entrepreneur, CEO, and founder of UTV Group, which included Bloomberg UTV, UTV Software Communications, etc. Since school time Ronnie had an interest in films and theater. He also acted in some skits in Bombay theater like Alyque Padamsee and Pearl. But he did not like working for others, so his stage career ended as he wished to initiate his business. Ronnie started on a small scale in the year 1981.
