The story starts with Awantika Sinha. She is a criminal psychologist. Although young, she is well renowned in the society of doctors. She gets assigned to profile a criminal in a discrete government asylum, where dangerous and mentally ill criminals are imprisoned. Awantika is allocated to profile a serial killer, Shivam Bhargav. He is a 36-year-old man who has murdered a man and a woman. He has already confessed to the murder but gave no reason. However, there is no evidence to support his claim. The police want solid evidence that proves that he is the murderer. So, Dr. Awantika has been asked to read his psychology and make him confess to the crime, and understand the reason. Based on her views, the judges will decide his punishment, whether it will be capital justice or lifetime imprisonment.

Dr. Awantika is a talented and hard-working person. She tries to solve each case with perfection and honesty. The criminal, Shivam, is a twisted man. He talks in riddles and phrases to everyone, confusing them. As Awantike proceeds with the profile, she feels that there is more than what meets the eye. She feels either Shivam is messing with her or secretly trying to give her hints about a bigger conspiracy. Shivam gives hints in the format of cryptic messages or morse codes. Awantika, unsure whether it is worth spending her time on this, hires a private investigator to help.

As some evidence unfolds, Awantika finds evidence that hints towards a big crime and political conspiracy between nations. A chain of events takes place that she did not even fathom. Meanwhile, a fellow inmate in the same asylum dies, and he is an acquaintance of Shivam. On diving deep, Awantika finds out the dead inmate and Shivam are related to Lucknow murder events, which was the trending news. Awantika has some past demons that interfere with her judgments in Shivam’s case. The ultimate judgment lies in whether Shivam’s crime was justified or not.
