Dev is a police detective who has been carrying the pain of losing his wife, since the first season, in the middle of which he realizes that his wife isn’t actually dead. By the end of the first season, he faces betrayal from his now ex-wife Mehek. He believes that Mehek joined hands with Dev’s estranged father and abducted his mother. The second season starts with the revelation that Dev needs to work as a police consultant as a penance for having acted against the law. His first case with the police was the investigation of the case of Dhwani, a social media freak, who was being stalked in real life. Impressed by the thrill and brain involved in crime investigation, Dhwani joins the police as an assistant to Dev. He once saves Dhwani’s life from her stalker, and they become close. Dev tries to keep Dhwani at bay, fearing that Mehek might attempt to kill Dhwani, like she did Dev’s late wife, Meera.
