The plot and theme are somewhat different than the usual rom – coms pervading the Indian serial scene. This series chronicles the lives of Anuj, a successful Gujarati millionaire, played by Sharman Joshi and Gauravi, a Marathi girl, played by Asha Negi. Their characters are polar opposites but fate brings them together in a strange way. Anuj’s childhood was a tough one. His education remained incomplete after his father passed away. His rags to riches story is very inspiring. He became a millionaire after successfully setting up "Mehta Diamonds" from scratch.

Anuj is a very kind and humble person. He treats all those working under him with the utmost respect. Gauravi’s childhood is significantly different. She grew up in a household where education was of prime importance. She works in Mehta Diamonds. Spread over twenty episodes, the series takes the viewers through the lead pair’s journey of finding each other and becoming closer. As life takes its own twists and turns, they find themselves getting roped in by their families to commit to an arranged marriage. They start falling in love after marrying each other. The season ends on a serious note where Gauravi hands herself to the police to save Anuj from getting arrested. They come to know that they have been misled and cheated on by his sister and her brother. Anuj promises her that he will free her.
