CH Narayan Moorthy, also known as Chitrapu Narayana Rao, born as Chithrapu Narayana Murthy, was an Indian film director known for his significant contribution to the Telugu and Tamil cinema. He had received a Certificate of Merit for the movie, Edhir Paradhathu (1958) and for movie, Annaiyin Aanai (1962). He was born at Machilipatnam, Andhra Pradesh in 1913. His brother, Chitrapu Narasimha Rao, was also a film director. He started his film career with the help of his brother by assisting him in films like “Seetha Kalyanam”, “Sati Tulasi”, “Mohini Rukhmangadha” and “Krishna Jarasandha”. His directorial debut was “Bhakta Markandeya”, starring Vemuri Gaggayya and Sriranjani. The film had done well and established him as a director.

SM Sriramulu Naidu (1910 – 1976), who managed three film studios, deserves credit. He was named "Coimbatore Movie Mogul," implying a legendary mark he had established in the film industry. Munuswami, his father, was a station master when he was born in Tiruchi in 1910. Naidu used to work in his father's bakery. In 1936, he founded Central Studio in Coimbatore with his mates R.K. Ramakrishnan Chettiar, B. Rangaswamy, and Aamikannu Vincent. However, he left them in 1944 and established Pakshiraj Studios in 1945. At the beginning of the 1940s, Naidu decided to enter the film industry. Their first Tamil production, "Aryamala" (1941), was released at the Central Studios under Pakshiraja Films. PS Ramakrishna Rao was a Telugu director who was a doyen of directors of his time. He was born on 12 October 1918, in Kurnool in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India. He was married to the veteran actress Bhanumathi Ramakrishna, and had a son by the name Bharani Kumar. He was also a screenwriter and producer. Ramu Kariat is an Indian Film Director. He works in the Malayalam Film Industry. Ramu was born on the 1st of February in the year 1927. He was born in Engandiyur, Kerala, in India. Sohrab Merwanji Modi was born into a Persian family in the year 1897. He was a stage and film actor, a producer and a director. He did various films like Khoon Ka Khoon, Jhansi Ki Rani, Sikandar, Pukar, Mirza Ghalib, Prithvi Vallabh, etc. His movies carried strong messages of social and national issues.

In 1936, he launched Minerva Movietone, where his early movies dealt with social issues like Meetha Zehar (based on alcoholism) and Talaq (Right of Hindu women to divorce).
