The story revolves around the protagonists, Jaydatta Kale and Riya Varde. Jaydatta is a good-natured, honest, soft-spoken, silent, and understanding man. He has recently joined as an assistant tehsildar, and his family is proud of him. A girl named Priyanka is his neighbor. She deeply loves him and dreams of marrying him one day. However, Riya is the daughter of a wealthy builder and a spoilt brat. She is a rebellious, arrogant, and carefree girl. Riya and Jaydatta locked horns on their first meeting and started hating each other. Both of them bicker and fight whenever they meet. 

The series also showcases the other aspects of society like bribery, power, authority, money, dishonesty, etc. The honest male lead constantly tries to fight off such traits and handle them carefully. Although many people criticize Jaydatta for his honesty, he remains firm in his beliefs and principles.
