1. Sahithya Jagannathan

Sahithya, who calls herself an average tambrahm, once braided her hair into two plaits and wore those large fat glasses, also known in Tamil as 'soda budi, ’, had no idea that some day, she would walk the ramp that would help her scale heights in life. Her ideals and mindset changed when she was in class seven; she decided she wanted to do something in fashion. Having been a geek back then with books being her best friends, she was one among 40,000 children to have been selected to get to talk with a few from the ISRO. During the incident, when asked what do you want to do in the future, She recalled saying “All you scientists dress like shit, and I want to do something about that!”, she gained all the more confidence since all of them present at that meeting, didn’t get irritated. On the contrary, they were rather happy and ended up taking pictures with her. Having scored well in her boards, she then decided to pursue design in NID, Ahmedabad. However, she realized she lacks the passion for it, quit it after two years and went back to Chennai. She then pursued journalism at M.O.P Vaishnav College for Women, Nungambakkam. On one occasion, she happened to be taking a break with her friends at a mall near college. At the mall, she saw this store, Rehane and decided to take up a job there.

2. Akhila Sasidharan

Akhila Sasidharan is a Malyalam actress, who was born in Kerala and brought up in Saudi Arabia. She is a versatile dancer and an excellent singer, who grabbed the attention of the audiences in dancing and singing competitions held in the Television channels. She clinched the “Runner Up” title in the Asianet program ‘Thakathimi’ for ‘Bharathanatyam’ in 2007. She was the anchor in ‘Munch Star Singer Junior’ in Asianet. She excels not only in Bharathanatyam, but also in Kalaripayattu. Kalaripayattu is one of the ancient Martial arts, that uses the technique of attacking the enemies by the rapid body movements rather than the weapons. Recently, Akhila performed the Kalaripayattu in Chennai during the celebration of “100 years of Indian cinema”. Akhila Sasidharan has acted in two Malayalam movies with the popular stars ‘Dileep’ and ‘Prithviraj’. Karyasthan was her debut movie with Dileep, which was released in the year 2010 and Teja Bhai and Family was the movie, which she did opposite to Prithviraj in the year 2011. Akhila is passionate about reading books. Akhila has completed her post graduation course in the “English literature”. Her love of the language made her to become mad about reading books. She has a huge collection of literary and poetry books in her house.

3. Sarayu

Born in the town of Tripunithura in Kerala, in 1990, Sarayu made her debut as a Main Protagonist in 2009 in the movie, Kappalu Muthalali directed by Thaha. While the movie was rated average, her performance was duly noted leading to more roles in other movies including Sooryakanthi and Kungumam.

 

Her early career saw her perform minor roles in movies such as Chakkara Muthu in 2006 and Veruthe Oru Bharya in 2008. In 2010, following her debut, she has played roles of the protagonist in movies such as Chekevar, and has been cast with Bala in the movie Sahasram, and with Kunchakko Boban in a negative role in Four Friends. 

 

Through her acting, she has shown versatility and ability to adapt to the script and the role, playing a multitude of characters in several movies in roles that are directed by expert and award winning directors, along with senior actors such as Siddique in Orkut Oru Ormakoot, or as Indrajit’s wife in Krayilekku Oru Kadal Dooram, and in movies by T S Suresh Babu such as Kanyakumari Express and Inganeyum Oraal.

 

She has also played the notable character of Revathi, alongside Manoj K Jayan, Jayasurya and Bhama in Janapriyan. Exploring newer avenues, she also played a major role in Sidharth Bharathan’s directorial venture, Nidra. In a critically acclaimed role, she also played the role of a sly seductress in Husbands in Goa, opposite Indrajith, Asif Ali and Jayasurya.

 

She has also featured in guest roles in HouseFull, and is now moving into Tamil roles as well, working in a presently-being-shot movie by cameraman Madhu Ambatt. She also has directorial experience, having directed the short movie Pacha, featuring a voice over by the actress Bhama and songs by the actress Ananya.

 

Affectionately called Ammu by her parents, Mohan & Uma, she has completed her schooling in GVHSS Ernakulam, her graduation from Maharajas College in Ernakulam in BA Literature, and is currently pursuing her Post Graduate Degree in Literature from Anna Malai University.

Chitra Shenoy is now a household name among Malayalam viewers. She plays the role of a greedy, cruel mother in law in the daily soap, Sthreedhanam. Sthreedhanam is telecasted by Asianet television channel and is very popular among lady viewers. The character Sethu Lakshmi is very strong and is safe in the hands of Chitra. 5. Anjana Appukuttan

Anjana Appukuttan is not only a Malayalam T.V Serial actress, but a comedian too. She lives in Kochi, India. Her father is a retired employee and her mother is a home maker. She has a sibling as her brother. She has done her schooling and college in Kochi, Kerala. Chandra Lakshman is a famous television serial and movie actress from Kerala. Born in 1983, Chandra is the only daughter of Mr. Lakshman and Mrs. Malathi. Chandra was brought up in Chennai, and she has a degree in Hotel Management. Chandra’s entry into the entertainment industry was quite unexpected. She was a strongly focusing on her career in hotel management when an acquaintance introduced her to the show business.
