Before Irrfan Khan landed meaty roles in Hollywood, he performed his craft on the smaller screen, Sparsh to be exact. The TV series, Sparsh, first aired in 1998 and it wrapped up its final episode in 2000.
The critically acclaimed series gained a lot of praise for its heartbreaking love affair plot and its usage of Jagjit Singh’s ghazals as the soundtrack. The series was far ahead of its time and it didn’t use the over the top formulas that most Hindi series use these days. The series was directed by Ravi Rai and capable artists like Irrfan Khan, Mahesh Thakur, Divya Seth, and Mrinal Dev Kulkarni carried the show smoothly.
