Plot
Katnam Prasad works in Malaysia. He has not yet married, as his father insists him to get married only if he gets Rs 2 crore as a dowry. Priya’s family is getting ready to settle in the US. After she hears about Prasad, Priya plans to marry him without giving him a dowry. Her plan makes Prasad’s father interested in this proposal. However, she is shocked after an incident occurs. Why did Priya’s family plan to settle abroad? Why did Prasad’s father insist on a huge dowry? Will Prasad marry Priya? The rest of the film speaks about this.
Star Performance
Saptagiri has taken a new avatar. His comedy works out only in parts. Priyanka has a good screen presence and excels in a few scenes. Annapoorna and Muralidhar have given their experienced performances. However, overall performances are not impressive, as many over-the-top performances are seen.
Analysis
Though it is interesting to see Saptagiri in a new role, it didn’t work out well, as it didn’t suit him. If the comedy scenes had been natural, it would’ve worked out well. They are forced and hence don’t evoke laughter. Some performances are over-the-top, and it spoiled some comedy sequences. The dialogues are not original, and they are repetitions from various popular films. The climax looks hurried and not satisfactory. The visuals and music are decent. Though the editing is okay, it should’ve been crisper.
