On January 23, 1980, Jiji Scaria was born in the Kerala city of Kottayam. At the age of nine, he started learning the Indian martial technique of Kalaripayate. He began learning Chinese Kung Fu after four years. He received the Kung Fu Black Sash at the age of 15 from the Yao Lan Kung Fu School in India. After college, he began training in karate and judo. He began studying Wing Chun in 1993 under the guidance of the Global Traditional Wing Chun Kung Fu Association.
