Plot
The story of the movie is about a young couple. They are Putting and Shashikala. The movie is set in a small village’s government school where Puttaraju used to study. The love story is innocent and cute. It ends with an important moral message. In the beginning, Puttaraju narrates the story as a flashback. The story movies to few years back in the village where Puttaraju spend his childhood. Puttaraju was in love with a girl. But she was supposed to leave the school as her father got transfered to Shivamogga.
Puttaraju tried everything but the girl left the school. He got heart broken. Soon, another girl, Shashikala gets transferred in his school. It turns out that she is his childhood friend. They used to play together. Puttaraju and Shashikala falls in love. During their high school, their relationship blossomed. However, one day Shashikala's father finds out about their relationship and Shashikala has to fight for her love.
Star performance
The main characters of the story are Puttaraju and Shashikala. Puttaraju character is played by Amith Gowda. Throughout the film, Amith’s acting skills are fantastic. He portrayed Puttaraju as a unique and a fun character of the story. He neatly balances Puttaraju’s emotions in intense and emotional scenes. He delivered a nuanced performance. Puttaraju’s character develops as the movie proceed.
Jayashree Aradhya plays the character of Shashikala. Her character is of a high school girl. She falls in love with a Puttaraju. Their love story went under many struggles as her father finds about her relationship. Jayashree as Radha has delivered an impressive performance in the film. Jayashree’s presence made the story interesting and authentic.
Surya Kundhapura, Dingri Naresh, and Sushmitha are the supporting cast. They have delivered neutral performance in the film.
Analysis
Puttaraju Lover Of Shashikala is a watchable movie. The film’s script is about a couple, Puttaraju and Shashikala whose relation underwent many challenges and struggles. The genre of the film are comedy, suspense and drama that forms the film’s storyline. The storyline of the film can be more interesting and unique. The base is just a regular Kannada love story. There is nothing exceptional about it. The film also don’t have an unexpected ending which makes it less interesting. However, the execution of the script is elegant. The direction is also amazing.
The storyline is simple and basic to visualize yet it fails to deliver its message as it should.  The chemistry between main actors and supporting actors is palpable. The characters in the movie are less developed otherwise the acting delivered by leading cast is amazing. The supporting actors have also delivered neutral performance. The film has an average cinematography. Moreover, the movie’s plot is quite predictable. But on a positive side, the soundtracks in the film are enjoyable and fun.

If you like comedy, drama and romance then you should definitely watch this. Although, the plot is regular and basic as compared to other love stories in Kannada. So, you can even skip the movie.
