MORE CAST & CREW
Let's dive into the history of China. A revolutionary story revolves around the key events of the 1911 Revolution, along with focusing on Huang Xing and Sun Yat-sen. The movie reveals some parts of the unheard history of China. A Revolution that led to the China we see now. A great change in the History of China.
Plot
The movie is set during the 1911 uprisings in China. During this period, a revolution was called up by China's first-ever President, Sun Yat Sen, along with his military commander, Huang Xing, that aimed to seize the power of the Qing Dynasty, overthrow them and rule China. It shows how Sun Yat Sen teams up and plans all the actions to be taken to make China free from the monarchical rule of the Qing Dynasty.
Star Performance
Jackie Chan has not injected any of his playful charm or physical mastery into Wang Xin Dong and Chen Baoguang’s screenplay. Yuan Shi-Kai as usual gives his best as a villain. Huang Xing acts fabulous as a revolutionary. He leads the role very well and without any mistakes. An unforgettable performance given by all of them.
Analysis
Jackie Chan co-directs this historical epic with Zhang Li to acknowledge the centennial of the Xinhai Revolution, which resulted in the end of two centuries of the monarchical system in China. The movie moves quite quickly at the beginning and then there is a lot of war portrayed which resulted in the failed attempts to overthrow the Qing Empire. Characters are all identified, and that is the only part of the film that distracts from the viewing. The film is enjoyable if you know the Chinese history of that period. Sun Yat-Sen is the main character, but Jackie Chan does get to be more than just an action figure. If you want more about that period of China this would be the movie to spur you on or give a better illustration of what was going on in China at that time. Yuan Shi-kai is one character who has appeared in a lot of historical films portraying that period, and his actions are, as always, ones of greed and betrayal.

Verdict
It is a good movie if you know or are interested in China's history. The movie itself is very revolutionary. It transforms China from a monarchic country to a free one. It makes China what it is today.
