Plot:
This movie has an underlying story that deals largely with the friendship between a man and his horse. Albert gets himself a horse and spends a lot of time training him and teaching him things. One fine day, due to lack of money, his father sells this horse to the British army.Â
Knowing this Albert becomes adamant to join the army to reunite with his best friend, his horse which he named Joey. On the other hand, Joey goes to several people, changing lives in his journey and is finally found bruised and chained in No Man’s Land. Albert and Joey finally reunite, and this brings the movie to its culmination.Â
This is a harrowing and heart touching the story of a horse and his journey through the war and back to his loving owner and is based on a play. There are times when you just want to roll your eyes at the insensible humor that more often than not feel out of place and, therefore, distracts you.Â
The work in the movie on the part of the cinematographer is impressive, and the background music is incredible and brings the essence of the movie fairly well. You may, however, feel that the first half of the movie is very boring and draggy. Another drawback in the movie is the fact that the movie doesn’t spend much time with its characters. Every character has not more than 10 minutes or so, on the screen and this gives you insufficient time to know the depth of the character and you become detached in the process. However, there is also a feeling that the emotions may look pretentious and stiff at times.Â
Verdict:
This movie can be given a try owing to the beautiful and jaw-dropping shots and cinematography.
