After spending sixteen years of his life on Mars, Gardner is curious about his roots. Against the will of Nathaniel, a fellow astronaut, Kendra takes Gardner to Earth.

Upon reaching Earth, Gardner is kept in NASA’s quarters to prepare him for life on Earth and strengthen his resilience. He escapes from there with a friend named Tulsa. Analysis

The Space Between Us shows the viewers a glimpse into colonization on Mars, something we all have envisioned. Through its exceptional storytelling and minute details, the movie captures the hearts of the audience. The most appreciated fact is that although it is a futuristic movie, the sense of realism is not lost. It is a commendable trait of this particular film. There are a few areas where it could have been improved.

The film tries to bridge the gap between the future and the present, but it has failed in the execution of the plot. A few aspects of this piece can’t be easily comprehended by an average viewer. No extra efforts are taken to make it simple for the audience, making it not the first choice for everyone out there. Also, many questions have been left unanswered as the film progresses gradually. All in all, the flaws and merits of this piece balance out just perfectly.

What’s There?

  • A fresh storyline is brought to the public.
  • A strong character development is seen in the protagonist.

What’s not There?

  • Many loopholes are evident in the story.
  • Lack of effort is seen when it comes to the execution of the plot.

Verdict

The Space Between Us is a futuristic thriller that reminds the audience to think beyond their expectations. For all the curious minds out there, this may be the perfect match for you. Even if you aren’t scientifically inclined, this could prove as an interesting watch.
