Plot

The movie starts, and we see a deserted house in the middle of the forest. We see a cage inside the house, where Mike is trapped and is guarded by two guards. Mike is among the best hackers in the world, having recently hacked a government agency. The reason the group has kidnapped him is because they want to auction him to wealthy businesspeople all over the world to earn a hefty amount. The leader of the gang is Miro, who is the mastermind behind all of these. On the other hand, we see Sam, who is breaking into a house and starts to shoot all the guards. A while later, we learn that it was a test to get into a gang known as “The Collective”. Liam, the leader of the gang, is happy with Sam’s performance and Sam is selected to work with them. The following day, Sam reached Liam’s office, Liam informed Sam that he would first have to perform a desk job for six months before joining the field work. Sam started working, but he was unhappy and disturbed as he wanted to do a field job. In the next scene, Liam talks to one of his best agents, Hugo. They were discussing a big project that they had recently completed. The project is granted by the U.S. government, which is to catch the gang led by Milo, as they are engaged in serious human trafficking. After some time, they realize that Milo, and his gang are aware that they are following them, as they have already hacked their system and have the list of “The Collective” gang’s special agents. So, Liam decides to appoint Sam, as he is a new member and his name is not yet documented in the system. Will he be able to carry out the task? The rest of the film revolves around it, with much action.

Star Performance

The casting assigned was pretty good, but still they failed to deliver a favorable and satisfactory performance. The cinematics were good, but the editing faded the charm of the scenes. Overall, it had a good story but the director failed to deliver it rightfully to the audience.

Analysis

The Collective is an action movie with a plain-sailing plot and cliches throughout the film. Talking about acting, a few of the characters did their best, but most of them felt pushed. Also, the story is so unhappening that you can probably watch it while doing something else. The fight scenes, which are the main essence of the film, are poorly choreographed and feel unnatural. The filming seemed low-priced and casually done. Altogether, this movie did have potential, but the directing on it just destroyed it.

What’s There?

  • Gleaming and uncomplicated storyline and character placing.

What’s Not There?

  • The film suffered with poor cinematography, casting and direction.

Verdict

The movie is a nightmare for the ones who likes action sequence, as the film stumble upon its core action scenes. The viewer may get bored almost entirely.
