Plot

Lisa, played by Regina Hall, is the manager of a bar and restaurant, where the wait-staff is required to be dressed in minimal clothing. She tries to support and protect her workers, and therefore is often at odds with the owner of the bar. Her boss is especially angry when she holds a car wash with the workers to raise money for Shaina, a waitress who hit her abusive partner and is staying with Lisa. After an especially hard day, the bar’s owner fires Lisa. She gets home and discovers that her husband has left the house. Lisa completely breaks down after this. The film follows Lisa, her hectic workplace and workers, and how Lisa eventually learns to let go of her worries.

Star Performance

Regina Hall delivered a stellar performance as Lisa. She perfectly portrays her characters struggles, anger, frustration, and sadness. The viewers would definitely empathize with her. Haley Lu Richardson and Shayna McHayle also deliver good performances.

Analysis

“Support The Girls” tells the story of someone who keeps others well-being before theirs and repress their emotions and emotional needs. The film follows such an individual and what happens when all the emotions they repress bursts forth and completely overwhelms them.
