Space and Time is a comedy-drama-romantic movie, directed by Shawn Gerrard. The film stars ‘Steve Yaffee’, ‘Victoria Kucher,’ and ‘Risa Stone’ in lead roles. The cast of the movie also consists of ‘Andy McQueen, Alex Paxton-Beesley, Amy Jo Johnson, Robby Hoffman and Ish Morris’ in supporting roles. Shawn Gerrard is also the screenwriter of the movie. Sebastian Shinwell is the composer of this film. The cinematography is done by Robert Walsh and edited by Christopher Minns. The movie is produced by Shawn Gerrard, Cameron Shinwell, and Jamie Miller.

Plot

As they approach their thirtieth birthdays, academic physicist Siobhan and her photographer boyfriend Sean realize they have not found the answers to key questions about themselves and their relationship. Their relationship is further tested when Siobhan decides to pursue a research opportunity which would have them shift to Geneva. As their lives move in opposite directions, the couple is forced As they approach their thirtieth birthdays, academic physicist Siobhan and her photographer to break up in order to rediscover themselves. Will they find the answers to their questions? Will they be successful in finding their true selves? Will they end up together? The rest of the story deals with this.

Star Performance

Victoria Kucher brilliantly depicts her character with complete sincerity. Risa Stone impresses with the lively way she portrays her character. Amy Jo Johnson steals the show for the time she has on-screen, by adding much needed comedy through her character. The rest of the crew do a fine work with their performances.

Analysis

The movie clearly explores the topics of – companion comfort and personal growth. It delivers the plot in a very true-to-life form. Both Siobhan and Seam seem to be a perfect pair from outside, but the problems, slight imperfections, escalates them to question their relationship. However, the movie lacks a bit drama specially after setting us up for an emotionally explosive relationship dynamic. At times, the cast feels like having a hard time navigating the space to find the right tone for their characters, this however in fairness compliments to the nature of the story about the uncertainty of the characters. The screenwriting in some places feel solid.  The writing however, feels a bit irregular especially where the characters are concerned.

What’s There

  • The acting of the crew is good and compliments each other
  • Amazing screenwriting and fair direction

What’s Not There

  • The writing feels a bit irregular and odd at times
  • Few other errors which could have been avoided.

Verdict

The ideas and story conveyed in the movie is good and seems real life which makes it even more natural. The cast of the movie did their job nicely. Though the movie falls in the category of comedy-drama, there is nothing resembling a stable harmony between both these halves. The film sets a great tone but fails to impress in executing the climax it has been set for. The film is best recommended for those who are curious and open to all the possibilities that cinema has to offer.
