Analysis
Though the movie uses a backdrop of 2045, there are a lot of allusions to the 70s and 80s pop culture. By creating stunning visual effects this movie, is bound to leave you mesmerized, wanting for more. This movie is a gamer galore with much references made. It is well adapted so much that some scenes could even prove to be better than the novel! The unique feature of this adaptation is that it ‘prioritises story over signifiers’ which makes all the difference.
Star Performances
Tye Sheridan does a terrific performance as the protagonist, and his scenes as Parzival with his cyber crush Samantha played by Olivia Cooke are quite adorable and cute. Wade’s best friend Aech acted by Lena Waithe is also portrayed skilfully. The villain Sorrento played by Ben Mendelsohn is done beautifully and is sure to get added to your list of glamorous villains!
What’s there?
1. A great plot which gets you engaged with the actors.
2. Great visualization which is sure to transport you to the scene of the shoot.
3. Great acting by all the actors some of whom are Oscar-winning.

1. No loose ends which does complete the story.
