She is acclaimed as the first actress from the East Asian background to play the front-runner in a British television series. She won several awards in 2016 and 2017 for her recently released short film The Heart of the Forest. She is also praised for her role as Nymeria Sand from the famous T.V. series Game of Thrones, HBO. Jessica Henwick was born and brought up in Surrey, England. She was raised by her Singaporean-Chinese mother and Zambian-English father, Mark Henwick, who himself is a famous author of the Bite Back novel series. She studied acting at Redroofs Theatre School and the National Youth Theatre.
