Stuntman and action designer Jude Poyer was born and raised in London. His childhood was characterized by action movies, including James Bond, Indiana Jones, Jaws, Star Wars, and more. Amongst the films, Tommy (1975) had a huge impact on him. At the age of seven, his father got a job in Sri Lanka and moved there with his mother while leaving him at a boarding school in the UK.

Jude Poyer saw this as a step into reality that instilled a sense of independence. This trait later contributed to his move to Hong Kong at the age of eighteen. In the boarding school, Jude met a PE teacher who taught judo. The teacher also showed them movies by Chuck Norris, A Police Story, The Young Master, etc., which further fueled Jude’s passion for action and cinema.
