Plot
Megan's life wasn't like normal teens. She trained as a secret agent, fighting bad guys and dodging bullets. But all that changed one day when Megan saw kids her age hanging out, laughing, just being normal. She craved that life, so she did something crazy: faked her death and enrolled in a high school under a fake name. Will she finally get a taste of normal teenage life, or will her past secrets blow her cover? That's a story you'll have to wait and see!
Star PerformanceÂ
Hailee Steinfeld looks amazing in the film and plays her role effectively. It was a comedic and skillful delivery by her. The real action comes from Jessica Alba as Victoria, Megan's ex-boss turned revenge-crazed villain. An overall good screen presence by both.
Analysis
Barely Lethal is a fun movie to watch. Hailee Stanfield's character as an assassin wanting to be a normal teenager is well played. The film is filled with cheesy lines and hilarious dialogue. The twists and turns in the movie keep you glued to the screen. The movie did have more potential to be better in terms of narration and exploring characters more, especially more action for Hailee's character. The antagonist of the story plays her character well. The background score is well-suited to the scenes. Overall, it is a good movie to watch.
