Plot
The story’s plot revolves around a middle aged man. He is visually impared. His ship got wrecked and he landed on a wild land. There he meets a small boy named Chinook and the Alaskan malamute, a wolf. Both of them together help the blindman to reach his home successfully after his children launch a mission to find their father.
Star performance
The main character of the story is a man who is visually impaired. His name is Royce Davis. Steve Byers plays his character. He is a bright and intelligent man with experience who struggles to find his family after he gets separated. However, at some scenes Steve's acting was not satisfactory as it was. At times, it felt like he was just reading the lines from the script. His acting lacked depth.
Another important character is of Max Davis who is a boy. He helped Royce to unite with his family. Zackary Arthur played his role in the movie. Zack has done a terrific acting. Hi character made the story line more meaningful. Out of all the actors, the dog present in the movie played the best acting. He really made it look like as if the story is real.
Other supporting cast like Morgan DiPietrantonio, John Tench, Colin Fox, Donovan Brown, Adam Nicholson, Jeremy Ferdman, Keith Saulnier, and Iikona did average work in the movie. It felt as if they were just reading the scripts.
Analysis
Against The Wild III: The Journey Home is a fantastic movie. The story’s plot is riveting. However, at times it felt unrealistic which was hard to visualize. The actors in the film could do better. It felt as if they were just reading the script. There was no depth in their acting. Moreover, the characters were underdeveloped too. The most compelling thing in the film is the dog. Despite being an animal, the dog acted very well than other actors. His presence in the movie made it more intense. The film has an exciting yet intelligent plot. The script’s execution in the movie is average. It could’ve been better. The pace of the documentary is problematic. It is instead a slow movie. The movie’s plot is predictable.
The movie’s script lack depth as the emotions of the characters were not shown on the screen. The movie has fantastic cinematography. The film’s soundtracks are also unique. It fits in the script.
