Samit Basu
has tried his hand at writing screenplays for films, but he says he can never stop writing fictional books as that is where his journey as an author began. His novels like The Simoquin Prophecies, The Unwaba Revelations and Terror on the Titanic have received a lot of appreciation from the readers. In 2014, he started writing a book series for children, titled The Adventures of Stoob, which revolves around a ten-year-old boy Stoob and his venturesome life. The first and the second book of the series- “Testing Times” and “A Difficult Stage,” were an instant hit among the kids. In February this year, the talented young author grabbed media’s attention with the third book of the series titled Mismatch Mayhem, which hit the market. While in the first two books Stoob deals with exam pressure and realizes his love for acting, the third book sees him vacationing in Thailand with his friend Ishani. Also, his friendship with Rehan is set to face the test of time. So far, the book has been received well. The writer also announced that there would be a fourth book as well where Stoob will become a teenager. Samit is currently busy writing a script and a book for adults.
