, the CEO of Dharma Productions’, revealed that from the release of ‘Jigra’ onwards, there will be no more advanced press releases. If at all the press will get to see the movie, they will get to attend early morning shows on the day of the release.
But why is Karan Johar so adamant on this? According to recent reports, Karan Johar doesn’t want the theatrical experience to be ruined by spoilers leaked by influencers with vested interests. He wants as much viewers to enjoy his movies as possible. His experiment had worked to a great extent with ‘Kill’, which earned more than 40 crores worldwide, despite being released in India on limited screens.

Until ‘Kill’, the only theatrical release that was successful for Karan Johar was ironically ‘Sooryavanshi’, which earned almost 295 crores over a budget of 160 crores. However, with the success of ‘Kill’, Karan Johar is hopeful of better days.
