Riding on the fame brought by the ‘YRF Spy Universe’, Siddharth decided to release the film on the Republic Day weekend, just as he did with ‘Pathaan’ the previous year.

‘Fighter’ took a good opening as well. However, somewhere down the line, the film failed to strike a chord with the masses, despite its impressive visuals, and some great acting. The film, which was mounted on a budget of more than 250 crores, made a little above 350 crores overall. This means that Hrithik will have to wait a little more for his first box-office success since 2019.

It took films like ‘Teri Baaton mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’, ‘Article 370’, and now ‘Shaitaan’ to break the dry spell the Bollywood box office had since November 2023.
