Aishwarya Rai Was Omung’s First Choice!

Omung Kumar, the production designer turned director is gearing up for the release of “Sarbjit.” He says that he never wanted to direct a biopic after his successful outing with “Mary Kom.” After watching the videos of Dalbir Kaur, the sister of Sarabjit Singh, he decided to make the film. Earlier, it was said that Dalbir’s character was offered to both Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Vidya Balan. When we asked about this to the director, he says that his first choice was Aishwarya. When he narrated the script to her, the actress nodded yes, within 15 minutes. Aishwarya pulled off being a 22-year-old lady and a 60-year-old woman. The director says that only a few could do it with ease. “Sarbjit” is gearing up for release on 20th May. Aishwarya Rai, who was at the Cannes International Film Festival, returned to India, to watch the audience response for Sarbjit.
