Sanam Marvi was born in 1986 in Hyderabad, Sindh, Pakistan. At 7, she started singing with her father Faqeer Khan Muhammad at festivals and occasions held at shrines throughout Sindh and Punjab regions. Marvi's voice was breathtaking and soon attracted the audience. Ustad Fateh Ali Khan, at the Gwalior Gharana was her guru. She made her television debut in 2009. She performed at Coke Studio Pakistan, a Pakistani television series spotlighting live music performances.
