Shahid Akhtar Qalandar, also known as Qalandari, or Shahid Qalandar, is a singer, poet, artist, music composer, and songwriter from Pakistan. He was born in 1984 in the Hunza Valley, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. He studied at Public School and graduated from College Jutial in Gilgit Baltistan. After that, he went to the Indus Valley School of Art & Architecture in Karachi to study for a Bachelor of Design. Till 2009, he released six albums, including Shama, Qalandari 2002, Thala Thala, Best of Shahid Akhtar Qalandar, Jajee, and Mehr-e-Minas.
He was the first artist from his city to perform before the president of Pakistan. After the performance, he demanded an auditorium for the talented artists to showcase their art and craft. Shahid was always a source of motivation for the youth, especially the girls from Gilgit-Baltistan. He never lost any opportunity to give a message and influence the country's youth. His achievements include the HAAC 2018 Award.
