Shahid Masood is a Pakistani political analyst, journalist, and columnist born on May 26, 1967, to a Pashtun-Kakazai family in Karachi, Pakistan. He spent his childhood in Taif & Riyadh. His father was a civil engineer in Saudi Arabia for 15 years, while his mother was a teacher. He has two younger brothers who were born in Saudi Arabia. He is married and has two children. He is known for his series End of Time on ARY and Live with Dr. Shahid Masood on GNN.

He completed his schooling at Pakistan International School in Riyadh. He completed his MBBS degree from Jinnah Sindh Medical University. He majored in International Relations and Defense Studies at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. He is a medical doctor by profession but has always been interested in journalism. He got affiliated with the media in 2001 and served as a senior Executive Director of ARY Digital Network, now known as ARY News and hosted the show Views on News.

In 2008, he served as the managing director and chairman of Pakistan Television Corporation and as the special assistant to then PM of Pakistan Yousaf Raza Gillani as a minister of the state in the Gillani ministry. He has written two books. The titles are Views on News, Lahore: Mavra, 2004, 238 p. and End of Time, Lahore: Mavra, 2005, 136 p.
