Gulzar Hussain is a renowned Urdu chef who was born on 5 August 1965 in Karachi, Pakistan. He attended Pacsidal School situated in Nazimabad for his primary education and later pursued higher studies at the National College. Cooking has always been his passion, and he acquired extensive knowledge in the field through training in Food Designing and Kitchen Appliances in China. Gulzar then moved to Japan to receive culinary training at the Institute of Tokyo Culinary Art for 12 consecutive years, where he met and married his supportive partner, Rubina Gulzar.

With his vast experience, Gulzar returned to Pakistan and worked as an Executive chef at GTV Network and Aaj Entertainment in Karachi. Moreover, Gulzar held an executive position in Malaysia, China, Singapore, Thailand, Japan, Dubai, and other countries as well. Gulzar is famous worldwide for his exceptional cooking style and multi-ethnic recipes. His presentation style is marvelous, and combines different cultures in his dishes. Some of his notable oriental and continental dishes include Afghani Boti, Behari Boti Burger, Barbecue Chicken Salad, and Pizza Sticks. He differentiates himself from the other chefs in the country by offering easy-to-make recipes that vary from local to international cuisine.

Gulzar is also a popular personality, hosting the show ‘Live at Nine Gulzar’ on one of the country’s premier channels, Masala TV. He has done various shows on TV, including ‘Ramadan Flavors with Gulzar,’ where he cooks dishes for Iftar and is quite popular among the audience. He often goes to Pakistani hotels to give cooking classes, inspiring and helping many young chefs to bring joy to countless taste buds.
