Ghayyur Akhtar was born on 5th October 1945, in Lahore, Pakistan. He is majorly known for his work as an actor in Theater, Television, Film, and Radio. He started his acting journey through a play directed by Iqbal Affandi in 1970, introduced by his elder brother. Before this, he worked with Radio Pakistan from 1964- 1965. Then the famous serial PTV drama “ Sona Chandi A fun comedy-drama, Sona Chandi is a 1982 televisi >> Read More... ” gave him fame and a popular name, “Hameed Bhai.” He acted as a jailer in the “Direct Hawalder” movie, which was appreciated by the audience, and he did other films and then returned to TV and radio. In 1968, he started working on radio, comparing drama and propaganda.

He received the title of Radio Pakistan’s Outstanding Artist in 1998 for his outstanding performance. For his tremendous and mesmerizing acting, he received the award of “The Pride of Performance Award,” and “Tamgha-e-Imtiaz.” He died on 7th February 2014, in Lahore, Pakistan.
