He has been married to Nina Ajmal since 2011. The Faiz Festival, an annual literary and performing arts festival, was established in 2015 by Adeel Hashmi. He was also the chief organizer of the 2015 festival. He is still a regular performer at the annual festival, presenting poetry or prose recitations and hosting cultural events. In 2009, he established Faiz Foundation Trust, a non-profit organization to promote art, culture, and literature. He was the chairman of the Punjab Film Censor Board, an Artist Welfare Committee member chaired by Pakistan's President, which provided financial aid to poor artists. He has also received certification as a classical pianist and teaches young children. He has designed and conducted trainings for UNICEF, UNDP, UNESCO, Action Aid, The British Council, European Union, and Commonwealth Broadcasting Association.
