Somasiri Alakolanga is a popular actor in the Sinhala Television and film Industry. He was born on the 11th of March, 1946. He lives in Dehiwala, Basnahira Palata, Sri Lanka. He has worked in TV series including Soriya Neyo and Gini Avi Saha Gini Keli. Somasiri has also worked in several films including Yakada Pihatu (2003), Aksharaya (2005), Samanalu Thattu (2006), Anjalika, Sikuru Hathe (2007), Walapatala (2008), Bomba Saha Rosa (2013), Sanjana, Suhara Koka (2015), Sarigama (2016) and Father of Independence: DS Nidhasa Piya (2018). Somasiri later adopted the lifestyle of a monk under the name Harispaththuwe Somananda Thera at Sri Jayasumanarama Vihara, Uluwitike, Galle.
