is a Sri Lankan Actor, Scriptwriter, Media Presenter, Movie Director, and a Politician. He was born in the year 1980 in Kandy, Sri Lanka. The film went on to win Best Short Film at the Guerilla Short Film Festival in Sri Lanka. His second short film, Water Lily, also won the Best Short Film and the Human Rights Award at the Agenda 14 Short Film Festival in 2011. His first feature-length film, Whispering Mountains, has been selected for IFFR 2023. Jagath became publicly active in politics, first in 2014 when he became a member of the Aluth Parapura.
