Tufail Farooqi was born in 1916 in Lahore and studied at Rang Mahal Mission High School. He was a broadcaster and classical singer on the radio from 1940 to 1945. In 1945 he started a career as a music composer and gained fame from there. He was active in the music industry for 38 years.
